Times is always yellow, he always collects at least two times more than he is entitled to. Plus is green, he is quite fat and greedy and collects all he can. Minus is blue, his clothes are tattered and he is always loosing his jewels because of holes in his pockets. Divide is red, he is kind and shares his jewels with Minus so he isn't sad. The King is kind and rules them all. Each day the King tells the gnomes how many jewels he wants them to bring back. The King knows the temperaments of each gnome and realizes that some will come home with more and some with less.
