In the Cades Cove area of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park you can rent a riding horse to see some of the beautiful scenery of that area. In the fall the horses are turned out to rest until the next tourist season begins. I happened to see these horses walking across their pasture and was immediately struck by the universal message their friendship seemed to convey.
