I have made half a dozen these scarf wraps since I created the first one for a custom order. This time around I decided to add a hood to it and see where it took me. It wasn't until after we went to visit my boyfriend's godson, who is currently in love with The Lorax, that I realized just how much it was like the Once-ler's Thneeds. Completely versitile and everyone needs one.
It is knitted with a varigated pink and black boucle yarn that has a pattern of opposite colors scattered throughout. Around the border of the entire thing is a ruffled scalloped edge done in the shimmery pale pink of baby blanket yarn.
It looks sort of like a T, only the post is shorter than the very long top. It measures about 7 feet long and a bit over a foot wide. The bottom post (the piece that can be buttoned into a hood, but lies flat normally) measures about 1 foot square.
The whole thing is lined in random buttons in pink and black taken from my button jar. By wrapping and buttoning you are able to turn this big wrap into anything you want. the long parts can become sleeves, the hood a cowl, or buttoned around the neck with the hood down makes it look like a cape. Imagination will give this wrap a thousand uses and you'll never want to leave it at home (because it's darn warm!!)
