I have not made a sheath for this knife.
Materials of interest:
1095 high carbon steel: A fine traditional knife making steel, holds a good edge, fairly tough, and easy to heat treat. This is not a stainless steel, so it will rust.
Banksia pod: The Australian equivalent of a pine cone, these seed bearing cones can get quite large. The outer parts are fairly soft, but the interior is reasonably hard, and with a little effort, suitable for turning or carving. In this case I filled all the divots where seeds would have been with a black epoxy resin called Inlace™.
Inlace™: a commercial dyable epoxy resin compound that I use to fill holes and other gaps in some materials.
