Third place never looked so good! This piece began as a demonstration of the suede-backed bezeling technique for a friend. I chose a vintage bronze silk taffeta button to bezel, and the color was so rich and inspiring I just kept going with my bezel, until it covered the face of the button entirely, using peyote, netting, fringe, and whatever else occurred to me. Then it really seemed to need this elegant circular mesh rope, complete with it's own beaded toggle and loop. The closure is so pretty you might like to slide it around and wear it on one side in the front, or you can wear it at the back of you neck too. The piece is resting in a custom made box of russet velvet, and comes earrings made of peyote tubes and crystals on antique copper fish hook style findings.
