Or by their botanical name... Convolvulus Arvensis. It's a weed...but such a beautiful one!
Growing up, our fences were covered with this lovely flower. Not only did I love looking at them, but I also got such joy out of "popping" them. Just before they blossom if you squeeze the top of them the air contained inside allows you to make them POP! Thoreau. may have wandered across them on his walks as well.
This cuff is made with a beige colored wool felt and lined with a silky, green fabric. The embroidered morning glories are shades of purple and entwining around the flowers is a vine with leaves and curly q's. I have embroidered the botanical name of this flower along the top edge of the cuff. The cuff closes with an antique cut metal button, which also contains a floral design. This cuff has quite an antique look to it and could have come out of a Godey's Ladies Book, since it has that botanical "field journal" look of the late 1800's.
This cuff is of my own design. Each time I create this cuff there is a bit of a variation so that every single cuff is a one of a kind....each is made with love and care.
This would be a wonderful gift for a gardner. And, would make a lovely gift for your mom, sister, wife...or a treat for yourself!
