In this original painting, a Malaysian woman is wearing an elaborated Iban necklace, rich turquoise shirt, and decorated skirt that compliments her animal mask, the Bornean Peacock-Pheasant. The artwork symbolizes beauty, power, and independence in contemporary culture.
The illustration is painted on medium weight Rives printmaking paper. Acrylic paint was used to paint the dress and mask, and graphite pencil was used to define the hair, neck, face, hands and arms.
