This pot is wheel thrown in a speckled brown stoneware clay and glazed in a matte turquoise glaze. This is my favorite glaze for my embellished pots because any combination of fiber and beads looks good against it. This glaze has a lovely matte finish, not glossy, and it does this marvelous, rustic thing when you wipe it down to the clay. You will notice several areas where I have done this to play up the weathered look which looks great with the color and texture of the surface.
I call these my "happy pots"! They are bright and cheerful with candy colored glass bead dangles and beaded beads in shiny opaque shades of delica beads. The matte turquoise glaze on the speckled stoneware is the perfect "canvas" for the string of pearly yellow seed beads with the alternating dangles and beaded beads. This is probably my favorite shape of pot and definitely my best selling!
This little pot is about 7 inches in diameter and about 3 1/2 inches tall.
