The Jospephine Baker Burlesque Wrist Cuff features a 2 inch wide, 7 inch long beadwoven (by hand) stretch of luxurious leopard spots. Indeed, leopard, lest you forget the animal nature of her performances!
Top stage is embellished with sexy and sleek black lacework, inspired by Josephine's famous coiffure.
Downstage: sparkly metallic lacework that just roars 20's deco.
Pearls, but of course, they are so luminous, so glamorous so entwined with the imagery of the day. Think extravagantly long ropes draped down the torso. Yes, Josephine did that too, only sans the flapper dress!
Here the pearls dot the golden lace work, just a tease here and there.
They also make an appearance in the fascinator inspired focal:
A delicate beauty of a pearl encrusted flower, hand-woven of lustrous freshwater pearls from a sumptuous 7mm to the sweetest little seed pearls which frame and dot the surface like itty bitty dew drops.
From said lovely flower dangles a bunch of bananas of the vintage plastic variety. To tickle your fancy and further the burlesque imagery, a poof of a white marabou feather adds yet another touch of playful glamour.
Yes, we have some bananas. Three additional bunches play a supporting role, perhaps a chorus line dancing along your wrist, securely fastened to the metallic lacework by means of some golden wire-wrapping.
Fasten this showstopper about the wrist by means of two gloriously glowing vintage inspired, German glass buttons: Dreamy gilt edged pale sage roses.
Way ahead of her time and timeless, the exotic beauty, fierce talent and tongue -in-cheek whimsy that was and shall always be Josephine Baker!
