This is a beautiful light weight full size bedspread, made of gold-silk-embroidered blue poly blend, and yellow knit-backed silk. The center panel is 27”x23” with 2 rows of 3 gold-silk-embroidered flowers. I then pieced the yellow knit-backed silk borders log-cabin style. The change in shades is due to the way the light hits the grain of the fabric – you will see that one way the silk looks darker than the neighboring piece. Look at it another way, and the opposite is in effect. I used the balance of the blue for the top and bottom and sides of the piece. Total measurement is 67”x89”, which just fits my own full-size bed. I would have made it larger but I have no more of the blue with gold embroidered flowers (sigh).
I sewed all the seams under to finish the spread. Dry-clean this, obviously. I am very proud of this piece, and hope it will find a happy home in your home. This is a piece you will have for years, and can pass onto your children and their children. It would make a beautiful present for someone, as well.
