This garment has a lovely lavender - purple floral screenprint, in what I have always called 'Muted Roses'. The muted rose theme was used extensively in printed fabrics during the 'New Look' era of the late 50s, and has now re-emerged in this seasons runway recreations.
Garment has a full taffeta lining in the bodice only. The bodice is very fitted and has a shelf bust. The wide lavender waistband has some give, and allowed upto a size 29-inch waist. (I tried it on to make sure and it fit perfectly).
The skirt of the dress is very full and not lined. Dress closes in back with a metal zipper, and the back side bowtie attaches with hook and eye.
CONDITION: Dress is in very good condition, and has been worn and washed by hand at least once. There are no loose seams or tears. A professional repair has been made on the lining near the armhole.
The dress was photgraphed using a US/Size 4 mannequin, (which was not large enough for the dress to fit properly).
