There are five fireflies or lightning bugs on a colorful string measuring 70 inches in length. Each firefly is made of black felt with a bright yellow silk lower abdomen, black felt wing casings and wings cut from a curtain dug up at a flea market. They have glass bead eyes. Their bodies are about 2 inches long and they have a wingspan of 4.5 inches.
As adults, these insects live for only about 2 weeks, seeking a mate. These fun little fabric fireflies will last much longer, as they twirl and swing in the breeze on their string!
