With its ankle sweeping skirt and flowing style, the Maxi dress, was the Bohemian version of Victorian femininity. Empire waists and lace embellishment were often mixed with ethnic touches like false bibs and angel sleeves, while fabrics ranged from geometric stripes to delicate florals. Popular colors were dusty rose, Prussian blue, bottle green, rust and browns.
This pattern features the fashion elements described above and is period appropriate for a young girl of Julie's era. It includes step by step illustrated instructions for the dress shown. The pattern was designed and drafted by Nann as the first of our 1970's line.
