This would be a great companion to my "Swallowtail Summer" and "Baltimore Checkerspot" butterfly ACEOs in a set!
This butterfly card measures standard ACEO size of 3.5" wide by 2.5" tall. It is printed on Epson Ultra Premium Presentation Matte paper with Epson UltraChrome Inks, then sprayed with Krylon "Preserve-It" for maximum protection against fading. In the fall you may miss seeing butterflies outside, but this one can stay in all year and has a much longer lifespan than your average butterfly!
Card is signed, dated, numbered by me and will be shipped to you in a plastic protective sleeve.
** Did you know that Monarch Butterflies are in danger of losing their "over-winter" habitat in Mexico due to deforestation? All summer the butterflies in the US and Canada reproduce generations of offspring, each butterfly living for 4-5 weeks. However, at the end of summer, a special generation is produced that lives up to 8 months! This unique generation makes the trek from their summer homes in Canada or the US, all the way down to Mexico, to spend the winter- as the US and Canada winters are too cold for them to survive and would have no plants on which their caterpillar babies could feed. The butterflies who survive their hibernation in Mexico begin their trip north in the early spring. **
