The cover is made from a wonderful tea towel I found on one of my treasure jaunts in Fort Worth. Although it had a much-too-big-to-darn hole right in the middle of the design, I knew I had to rescue it. It's a scrumpdilly-icious linen with a vibrant carnation design. (I love red!) When I found a chenille remnant in a lovely little Austin fabric store, I knew I had my pillow. (The nine patch design was dictated by the aforementioned hole.)
The handmade flower in the middle is silk, and for the stigma (center) of the flower, I used a vintage button I believe is bakelite.
I lined the pillow cover with muslin and added linen tabs and a couple of new buttons for fastening. It measures 18" (45.7 cm) square.
The flap (envelope) design of the pillow makes it easy to put on and take off.
Separately, all fabrics used are machine-washable, though I suggest it be laundered with care--gentle cycle, cold water wash, mild detergent--or for best results even hand-washed or dry cleaned.
My home is smoke-free; my studio is also pet-free.
I will ship internationally. Please convo for rates.
