They are repros of Ones from the last Dynasty: Xing or Ching or Zhang Dynasty. It ended about 1910 after quite a few hundred years.
The decadence was astounding:
NailGuards to cover nails that were so long the person was helpless.
Womens feet were bound and distorted, though fetishers were very happy!
Babies heads were bound and their intellect was challenged after a bit , much like the Mayans with their distorted flatback skulls, and mental acuity along with that.
Anyway these measure 3 1/4" long but 3/4" is down the finger and adjustable. So, really ONLY 2 1/2" are past the fingertip!

Dancers in Thailand, etc often wear similar but longer ones. These were Not for dancers, but men whose nails were so long : a symbol of never having to work!
They all have an overall Cobalt Blue cloisonne enameled background with red turquoise and green embellishments . The motif is a Raised Frog and enamelled flowers. White metal reproductions from the 1980s of very vintage pieces. HOT GIRL!!!!

***They are adjustable for fingertip size, BUT because this has a glass enamel coating, I'd recommend NOT opening and closing them too oftem because the glass will chip off the surface. Especially: Adjust the thumb size once and just designate that guard for the THUMB!
