This large and heavy pitcher is in mint condition. No chips in the rim or spout. There are some internal marks up on the rim near the pouring spout and what look to be fractured bubbling on the inside, all of which are a result of the quick pour -- quick cool process by which most mass produced pressed glass was made.
It is smoky amber brown in color with a textured inside, giving it the optic dot bubble pattern. The outside is smooth. The bottom bears no names or marks.
This pitcher was made by the Continental Can Co, CCC, which originally made metal containers for WWII but then turned to glass production after buying the Hazel Atlas company in 1956. This pitcher does not bear the CCC mark on the bottom, which may mean a Hazel Atlas mold was used in production.
Pitcher is about 8 inches (19 cm) tall by 5.5 inches (14 cm) wide across the top. All packaged up for shipping, it weighs 4 pounds. This is a heavy, solid pitcher.
All of my China and glassware has been washed in the sink, by hand, with soapy water. I do not use a commercial dishwashing machine. Sometimes elbow grease is necessary to remove years and layers of grime. Dishwashers cannot do that. Any chips or cracks are noted in the listings.
