My teapots, as always, indicate the challenges and tribulations in our lives that give us character, that make us interesting, that give us our uniqueness and power.
These teapots take several weeks to complete, use a much more complex glazing process for the colors, and they are a result of a delicate balance in the firing process. They are well worth the effort and time. But the joy for me is in the process: I get lost when I am working on these, I get into the "flow", and totally lose track of time.
This is functional, but only nominally. They don't pour as well as my "curly" teapots, but you can use them if you like. I wouldn't put the in the dishwasher or microwave, though. I'm not sure how the glass beads would do in there.
The true joy of these is in looking at them, seeing the character of each side. Enjoy.
