Your painting will be created with very high quality Gamblin Oils, on an 11 x 14 inch format.
The difference between panel and canvas:
Canvas has a texture that can be seen.
The colors are not quite as "clean" as when I paint on panel. The light has to hit the texture of the canvas.
Many of the Old Masters painted on wood panel. The paint looks pure and vivid. The texture is like suede. The archival quality is often better than canvas in that it is a rigid surface, which keeps the paint from cracking over time.
The panels are easier to frame in that they can be put into frames with a narrower depth trough.
You may choose either canvas or panel. It's up to you!
Please look for a close up shot with interesting lighting. Strong lights and darks in natural light are the most three dimentional.
This commissioned painting of our beautiful model, Emersen, was painted from a photo taken outside in the early evening at sundown. No flash was used. ( a flash washes out all the shape needed to get a realistic result)
Send me your photo's for consideration.
