"Be joyful always; pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances..."

Open Prayer Box is my interpretation of the scripture above. Though a box in name, this pendant is actually open on both ends, symbolizing how we are to be in a constant state of praise or prayer, that either should continually flow within us and through us. The physical open channel of the box is surrounded on all four sides with biblical references to prayer, created with handmade texture plates used to embossed metal clay prior to kiln firing. An added patina of wonderfully rich tones of gold, green, and umber almost makes one wonder if this perhaps in an ancient artifact, recently unearthed to deliver a message still apropros today.

Finished pendant is .999 fine silver and 2" in length. The pendant dangles freely from a dual-strand black leather neck cord, attached with a single leather loop. Length of loop/dangle, including pendant is 4". Neck cord is 19", including the hand hammered sterling silver clasp. Pendant has been sealed to help preserve the patina.
