Why walk when you can ride? Especially when there's candy to be enjoyed; such confections deserve one's full attention.

This sculpture is OOAK (one of a kind); there will never be another like it! It is hand-sculpted from a strong polymer clay, and hand-painted with acrylics. The candies were made from translucent and colored clays. The mount (which is part Dragon Snail, part lump) sports a beard of green-dyed deer hide. His eyes were handmade by me. The reins and saddle pad are leather, and a real pebble is tied to the back of the stick with hemp cord.

7 inches high (5 inches to top of rider's head), 10.5 inches long (mount alone is 8 inches long). The rider is less than 2 inches high from bum to cap.

Candy is Dandy won a merit award in the 2009 Sculpture Exhibition sponsored by the Santa Clara Cultural Advisory Commission in cooperation with the Triton Museum of Art.

This sculpture should be displayed away from dust and direct sunlight.

*** SHIPPING:

U.S. buyers: The shipping estimate for the U.S. reflects the furthest shipping zones (east coast, Hawaii, and Alaska). Buyers on the west coast (near me) might expect to pay significantly less (as little as $6.91 in Sacramento). I will refund the difference if the shipping cost (including insurance) is more than $2.00 less than the estimate. (This shipping difference refund can only be issued if you have a verified account with Paypal. If you don't have an account with Paypal or if you want to know the exact cost, please send me your zip code for an accurate shipping cost before purchase.) I will pay for insurance myself.

International buyers: Due to customs laws and the natural materials used in this sculpture, it may not be legal to ship to all countries. I will pay for the insurance for Priority Mail International shipments that allow it. Insurance is NOT available to some countries including Israel, Mexico, and many African countries except via Express Mail International, which costs more. In such cases the buyer assumes the risks of breakage or loss unless he/she chooses to pay extra for Express Mail International (and I will pay for insurance). If you want to opt for Express Mail International, please contact me for an exact shipping charge.
