There are bears and fish interacting on each side of this piece. By day it is a lovely gray hue with splashes of dark green. By night, it will cast dancing bears and splashing salmon onto the surrounding walls. The piece measures 5" high by 5" wide.
The luminaries are initially thrown on a wheel and allowed to partially dry to a leather hard state. At this point, I carve my pieces free hand, creating original, one of a kind designs using a simple Exacto knife. I do not use any molds or pre-printed designs in my work.
There is a foot trimmed onto the base of each piece and a slightly raised ring on the inside floor to help keep the candle in place. Tea lights are recommended due to the ease of clean up. In fact, a scented tea light will be included with your purchase so you won't have to wait to light it!
