The 'Golden Leaves of Autumn' box features beautiful yellow ginkgo leaves dancing around the lid. The exterior has been pyroengraved, dyed, and painted vibrant cobalt blue with a semi gloss finish. The interior has a flat cobalt finish. Oh, and there is an optical illusion here too.. can you see the flower?
This is one of my "thief boxes," and unless you know the secret, it's hard to replace the lid on the first try. It comes with a small legend card-- fun to include for gift giving.
I grew this canteen gourd using organic methods. Approx. 2 1/2" tall not including stem, 5 1/4" diameter, 17" circumference. Signed on bottom.
Ginkgo biloba-- also known as the Maidenhair Tree is considered a living fossil. It was thought to be extinct, until a small grove was discovered growing in a remote area of China. It's said that ancient monks propagated the remaining trees and may be the only reason this beauty has survived to modern times.
