These bobbin lace earrings are carefully twisted from 24 threads apiece in an intricate design incorporating traditional Torchon elements: half-stitch fans and spiders. Although I have had remarkable difficulty capturing the color of this thread in the photographs, it is a bright, vibrant blue. If you want to know the precise color, I’ll be happy to tell you the number of the embroidery floss I used. Each earring ends in a long tassel for a little extra dramatic elegance. Suitable for casual or dressy wear, the lace is strengthened with applications of Fray Check. Findings and hooks are sterling silver.
If you’re curious about how bobbin lace is made, a description of the process is in the FAQs in my Policies, and in-process pictures of several lace projects are on my blog, www.madebylabeq.blogspot.com
