There is some rust at the base and throughout. This may have developed over the years while still in storage from humidity. Overall in wonderful condition although it can use a cleaning. The house had been neglected for many years. The dial is marked in pounds, ounces, grams and kilograms. Made of all metal except for the plastic top plate. Attractive pictures of food on the front dial. The scale measures 8 3/4 inches high, 8 1/8 inches deep, 6 3/4 inches wide and the top is a 6 inch square. The dial measures 6 3/4 inches in diameter, the base is 8 1/2 inches by 6 1/4 inches; marked as shown in the pictures, “American Family Scale”. Fairly accurate as the picture dictates. From the 1960's! very heavy.
