The tin measures approximately 7 1/4" at the widest point, and about 3” tall including the lid. The lid features a concave center with a knob like middle for easy opening. There is a nice snug fit to the lid, though it slides off relatively easily and isn’t overly sticky. I’ve been told that the concave lid indicates that this style of tin actually held fruitcakes, but NBC was generally known for selling their biscuits in tins.
NBC stood for the National Biscuit Company, an early name for Nabisco. In 1941, NBC changed their name Nabisco. Marked "NBC Trademark Uneeda" on the bottom of the tin.
This little beauty is in great condition considering its age. The paint is lightly worn in some areas, thought there are no dents or dings apparent to the naked eye. There is some rusting on the interior of the tin.
**Due to the vintage nature of this item there may be some slight imperfections, resulting in extra character and charm.
