What a fun and useful kitchen utensil! This egg slicer is all metal (not sure what kind), and has an egg-shaped well into which you place the hard boiled egg and then lower the slicing mechanism like a multi-bladed egg guillotine. ;-)
The mechanism works well, and the piece is overall in good condition. There is a bit of rust just where the cutting wires are affixed to the slicer. I am not sure if the wires have rust or not -- it's hard to tell. Although I have washed it, I would recommend giving this piece another good wash before using it; alternatively, it would be a great little piece to display in a vintage kitchen, or could even be used in assemblage.
The egg slicer measures approximately 4.25 inches by approximately 3.25 inches, and approximately three quarters of an inch deep. It has no makers marks.
