I had a vision of the design awhile back.It took me alot of time to finish because of the technique I used around the top.It is called filigree carving,and although very time consuming,it is well worth the effect it gives.I also did woodburning to add the lines.The inside has been dyed black and the outside several different shades of brown ink and dyes.Hanging is a turquoise earring and the dots are black acrylic paint.I have sealed this piece with 3 coats of satin polyurethane for protection.
I don't always understand the dreams and visions that I have in regards to my art.But for this one,I believe that the opening in the front represents an entrance for dreams and the piece of turquoise is an enticement for only the good and beautiful.
