I cast this sterling silver piece from a beautiful fossil concretion my husband gave me years ago. The concretion (a round sedimentary ball)once cracked open, contained a perfectly preserved curled up trilobite. I have cast only the head of the trilobite. I think I wanted to cast this piece primarily because of the pleasure of the discovery of such a perfect fossil in a round 'bit' of rock...
The sterling silver fossil weights approximately 12g and is the size of a quarter...Note this piece can also be made into a pin.
