Perfect for serving salad (it is sturdy despite it's delicate look) and lovely as a display piece on a table or standing up in a sideboard.
I reshaped the rim of this bowl into petals while it was still very soft. Later I added stamped flowers inside and out using my own artist made stamps.
I have been exploring flowing glazes, blending them together and applying them over delicious details. This bowl is a perfect example of the great results I have been getting. The bowl is glazed inside and out with a glossy pale blue with such depth that it looks like blown glass. The rim has an added layer of pale pink glaze that flows down creating lavender halos as it goes. Touches of dark greenish blue add to the complexity. The combination is so luscious that any one who sees it is immediately drawn towards it.
11x11x3.5" or 28x28x9cm. Holds about 8 cups.

All pottery from StudioÉLAN is created by hand from soft clay using the potter’s wheel or slabroller. The clay used is durable stoneware. The glazes are non-toxic. Pieces can be used in the oven, microwave and dishwasher, although handwashing will prolong their life. I hope you enjoy using it as much as I enjoy making it!
