Round Whale Candy Dish
Large size earthenware whale candy dish in solid white. Nice large size to hold all your candies, cotton balls, or knick knacks in one place. With its open mouth design you can even fill the whale with candies for a fun display.
7" tall, 6" diameter and the whale by himself is 2 1/2" tall, 3 1/2" long and 2" wide.
I poured the base from a 1970's planter mold, it has a beautiful globe design. The lid was poured from a 1970's mold that was for a grease pot. After those were made, I then cut off the lids knob and made and attached a 1960's whale ash tray on the top. Then they were all fired in the kiln to cone 04, glazed and fired again to make the glaze turn to glass.
I have several other ceramic pieces available, some hand molded from raw clay, some slip cast from vintage molds and some thrown on the potters wheel.
