Pink and yellow signify brick or wood frame buildings on the old Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps. This mosaic from 1916 shows many small buildings packed into each block and clustered around Savannah's squares at the height of urban density.

This is a new drawing from a 1916 Sanborn Map of the "Congested Area" with a weathered background on both sides. Six different north symbols from historic Savannah maps line the bottom edge of the back of the postcard.
