Never in the world will I to living wight
Give over, air my mind
To anyone,
Hang out its ancient secrets in the strong wind
To be shredded and faded..."
Edna St. Vincent Millay (February 22, 1892 – October 19, 1950) was an American lyrical poet and playwright and the first woman to receive the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry. She also used the pseudonym Nancy Boyd for her prose work.
Edna is dressed in her old fashioned, mustard yellow dress with buttons down the front and lace collar and cuffs. Her hair is bobbed in 1920's fashion and her thoughtful expression is hand painted. In her hand she carried a little brown writing book, just in case she feels the urge to write! Edna is a tiny four and a half inches tall (11.4 centimeters).
