On one side of the teapot, there is a bas relief image of one such cyclist cruising under a blue sky dappled with white clouds. On the other side of the teapot I sculpted a face that seems to glow with joy.
On Sale from $90.
The face and the cyclist are under-glazed with an red-yellow mix and over-glazed with a matte white, while the hair is glazed brown with a locally found clay slip. The inside of the pot is glazed a straw yellow, and there is a built in sieve at the entrance to the spout for use with loose leaf teas.
Each side of the teapot makes for an interesting artwork, and a whimsical conversation topic.
