This tribal African-inspired scarf is embellished with 50 coconut shell buttons and wooden beads, along with thread, embroidery floss and decorator cording sample in earthy shades of cocoa, tan, latte and rust. The scarf is shaped along the neck edge with hand stitched tucks. Each tuck, button, bead and trim is hand sewn and secured. Some of the embroidery floss ends have been left to the outside to add texture and interest.
Lots of handwork and loving care went into this unique scarf!
Tribal inspiration for everyday or special days!
This bib scarf is upcycled from a chocolate brown crochet kerchief that I found, just waiting to be transformed. The original head scarf is probably about 15 years old, in mint condition. The crochet work is soft and very detailed with scalloped edge. Ties at neck back making it adjustable.
This one of a kind piece will look lovely for any occasion!
