My set is made with both Brazilian Cherry and Bolivian Rosewood. The set includes 4 chairs and 1 table.
The chairs have tapered front legs that are set on an angle to add visual interest. The straight back of the chair also serves as the rear leg(s). The motif on the chairback is meant to simulate hollyhocks budding on a stem. I have included an inset of brass in the center of the motif to add more interest and color contrast to the wood.
The chairs measure about 4 3/4 inches tall at the highest point, 1 5/8 inches wide at the widest point, and about 2 1/4 inches deep. The seats are lightly padded and covered in a light colored cloth to keep the focus on the wood and design of the chairs. The seat cushions are removable to allow for a change in the cloth color.
The table top is about 4 1/2 inches in diameter and stands about 2 7/8 inches tall. The two-tiered base supports a square pedestal that includes a portion of the hollyhock motif on two of the four sides.
The wood pieces have all been coated with a clear gloss spray to bring out the wood grain and protect the wood.
