SUPER NINTENDO EYEGLASS CASE

A soft felt case for average-sized eyeglasses or sunglasses. Celebrate the 20th anniversary of the world's most successful 16-bit gaming machine while protecting your stylish shades!

As usual, a bit of electronic gaming history: In the early 1990s, Nintendo was facing a huge menace: The Sega Genesis (or Mega Drive, as it was known in Japan). The 16-bit machine was capable of putting out impressively superior graphics and sound compared to those from the 8-bit NES: it was definitely time for a new machine.

Nintendo's response to Sega was the Super Famicom (or Super NES, at it wuld eventually be called in the USA). It was a very complex project, involving not only robust hardware (A 16-bit CPU plus additional graphics and sound co-processors) but also a strong, methodically-crafted game library. Shigeru Miyamoto raised the bar for 2D platform games with Super Mario World, a huge game for its time. StarFox boasted polygonal graphics and a fast gameplay. F-Zero and Mario Kart revolutionized the racing genre, both conceptually and technically (MODE7 FTW). The third-party developers also showed great support, cranking out titles such as Final Fantasy, Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter. The Donkey Kong Country series impressed the world with sprites taken from pre-rendered 3D models, and excellent gameplay to match

By 1995, Nintendo was undisputed king of the console market. With a killer gaming library and technical superiority, the Super Nintendo Entertainment System would remain a huge player in the Video Game market well into the 32-bit era, selling almost 50 million units worldwide.

We tried our best to add a great level of detail to the controller's face, with a little bit of artistic license (the A,B,X,Y buttons are actual buttons!). All the frontal features of the case are hand-sewn, and the sides and the lining are machine-sewn for added strength.
