Parallelepiped prism Mezmerizing Rainbow Room Maker

This is another one of my favorite Austrian Non leaded crystals. It can stand alone as is or be combined with other crystals to create a "rainbow room". This crystal produces a rainbow band on the walls when placed in direct sunlight and placed in the right position. There is also 2 "bumps" of color created by the angles. I don't have a large room to get pictures of this rainbow, but I have taken pictures of sections of it. The crystal is in my bedroom and the band with the bump appears smaller when it is closer to the light source. You can see the difference when I took a picture of the same band and bump when the door was open and the rainbow went out into the dining area. I "captured" the rainbow on a piece of foamboard to photograph it. This wonderful light bending tube will bring you beautiful light shows as long as it is in direct sunlight,but even on cloudy days, it is beautiful. I am happy to finally be able to share these with my family and friends. I know you will want to do the same.

This is part of the rainbow from my parallelogram prism that is hanging in my window. I just learned that the prism I have is actually a Parallelepiped!!

A prism which has a parallelogram as its base is called a parallelepiped. It is a polyhedron with 6 faces which are all parallelograms. Oh the information you can find surfing the net!!

I have strung a special swivel onto the monofilament line so that you can turn the crystal slowly while it is hanging to get the rainbow in the best viewing position. I have also included a suction cup to hang the line from.
