The pincushion was created from royal blue velvet and is nestled within a dainty English Bone China cup and saucer...finished in the centre with a sparkling crystal.
The cup and saucer is in perfect condition with no cracks,
chips or knicks...it's Royal Albert Crown China and probably dates from the 1940s-50s.
I like to make pincushions with a "classy" and sophisticated look, but they are the real thing and not just for decoration. They're great for quilters and sewers but also useful (and decorative) in the boudoir for earrings, broaches and other jewellry. I purposely avoid the use of bows and embellishments because I think they're dust collectors.
The five pins are extra long (2 5/8") and embellished with both new and vintage crystals.
