This 62 page book by G. B. Woodin is just the thing for a vintage-appreciating wine-drinking friend. It begins with a note from the author, "Wine, a preserve comparable to canned fruit, jam, jelly, or, for that matter, cheese, is the most healthful and hygienic of beverages... Indeed, where there is no wine, there is no love nor anything else pleasurable to humankind." Whoa, this guy sure likes his wine!

This handbook covers selecting wine, wine producing countries, the differences between types of wine and more. There are even a few drink recipes in the back of the book. The Paul Rand-style illustrations are great, as is the cursive font.

The book is in good vintage condition. There is some wear to the edges of the dust jacket and only one stain on the inside pages that I've found. The illustrated pages do not have page numbers, which lend them to displaying. They would be gorgeous framed in white and grouped together in a dining area.

The book measures approximately 7.5 inches high by 4.5 inches wide.
