This classic 1940's Jasmine Mink collar has been revamped with a lovely hanging portrait pendant of a print of one of my own designs entitled 'The Wind Through the Birches.' The monochromatic illustration depicts a young man surrounded by silvery birch trees on a windy Autumn day, with blowing hair & scarf. I have accentuated the details of the birch trunks and blowing leaves by hand with silver metallic paint, and have encased the image into a waterproof resin cast.
The collar itself is in flawless condition, lined with black satin, and fastens with a convenient black brocade-covered hook & eye clasp in the front. The collar looks lovely over both a high-collared blouse, or a low-cut dress, adding a timeless flair to any ensemble, and keeping the neck nice & warm from the elements.
Though the pendant itself is waterproof, keep the collar away from dampness & dry clean only.
ABOUT THE MINK: This is a late 1940's Jasmine Mink collar from EMBA, a furrier known at that time to take great care to practice gentle harvesting methods of their fully matured adult minks. The pelt has no standing guard hairs, and is very soft, so it was probably a female. The fur is naturally white & unbleached, with very durable leather, and by the shimmer of it's fur in the light, you can tell it was from a very well-nourished & cared for animal.
