French Art Plaque, Completely hand decorated by the Coronet Limoges Decorating Art Studio in Limoges France. Beautifully painted and signed by the talented floral artist or china painter "CHOPIN', who was a prominently listed artist of fine antique Limoges porcelain. This artist is well known for his beautiful artwork portraying Brilliant Pansies upon Limoges porcelain. The lavish scalloped French Rococo framed border of this classic Limoges art heirloom is elegantly highlighted with heavy Roman Gold, with embossed gold Medallions on both sides, and a luxurious jewel -like beading which creates an elegant serpentine necklace. Excellent condition ~ only showing very slightest paint rubbing to high spots ~ no scratches, no gold loss, no chips, cracks, or hairlines. Measures 9 inches in diameter. Marked underneath with the Limoges, France, mark white ware mark in green, circa 1891, and the George Borgfeldt Coronet mark, overglaze decorating mark in green, circa 1906. Also bears the numbers L796. Note: Plaques were specifically created to be pieces of art to hang on a wall. Plaques are round and most were decorated in a factory studio and signed by a French factory artist. Plaques range from 8 to 32 inches in diameter. Artist signed pieces are in great demand.
