Ethiopian Flag Blankie
15x18 (give or take)
Choose a color for the back

As you unwrap your MamaEnat Ethiopia Flag Adoption Blankie the first thing that you will notice is the vibrant colors that make up the flag. True to tradition, the flag is three equal stripes of bright red, sunshiny yellow, and grass green. The emblem in the middle is a striking blue with a contrasting yellow five-point star on top and rays of light coming out from the star.

When you pick it up to have a closer look you’ll be taken aback by how soft this blanket is, completely made out of super soft no pill fleece on the front and luxurious minky on the back. The colors on the blanket might be all about energy and fun, but to touch it will make you want to snuggle it up against your cheek and find a good place to take a nap.

Since you’re snuggling the blankie up against your face, you might as well take this opportunity to check out the stitching. Stitching is definitely less exciting than the beautiful colors and the dreamy softness, but hey, I work hard to stitch them so I like to think you’ll admire that part too. These blankies are assembled by hand and I sew them together piece by piece. The rest of the blanket is stitched together inside out, turned right ways, sewn shut, and then topstitched twice around the edges for a great polished look and extra stability. Another great feature of the fleece and minky is that they just swallow up the stitches so that they’re as unobtrusive as possible.

After you’re done snuggling with this blanket you should definitely let your child have a turn with it. :) Don’t be fooled by their small size and propensity to drooling, children appreciate quality materials and MamaEnat Home:Sewn Adoption Blankies have quality sewn up. (And yes, that pun was on purpose) These blankies are double soft and you’ll see those little fingers gently rubbing the flat fleece stripes. After allowing a moment to enjoy that sensation help your little one feel the slightly puffy and raised shape of the star and then move on to the contrasting feeling of the zigzag stitched rays coming out of the star. From there help them turn the blankie over and enjoy the feeling of the high pile minky as they slide their palms over it. Beautiful, soft, culturally significant, for a good cause and an educational sensory experience….these blankies have it all!

Please choose for the back of your blanket:

*White Ribbed Minky *Yellow *Light Pink Puffy Hearts *Blue Stamped Stars * Bright Pink Raised Dots

If you’d like another color for the back please send me a message and we’ll work out a custom order. Also, the fabric that I have available will be used for blankets in order of payment. If I’m temporarily out of your fabric I’ll let you know and we’ll go from there. Your blanket will be made to order and will ship no later than ten business days (Monday-Friday x2) after payment.

I’d also like to say this is a smallish blanket about the size of what people consider a “lovey”. In our house, this is the preferred blankie size because they’re easy to stuff in a diaper bag , a toddler can carry it without it dragging around, and a preschooler could tuck it into their backpack unobtrusively to take to school or daycare. For an elementary age child though this might be a little small and I’d recommend checking out the Giant Blanket section.
