Tektites (from Greek word `tektos`, which means molten) are natural glass rocks which were formed by the impact of large meteorites on Earth's surface. These tektites are millions of years old.

I have chosen a blade-shaped tektite for this ring. The surface has an intriguing, almost lunar, texture to it. It is a deep black-olive colour.

I have set the specimen in a fine silver bezel, and created a double-strand square-profile band for the ring. All of the silver was tumbled in my rock tumbler for a few hours prior to setting the specimen. This process hardens the metal and lends durability to the finish, which is a high-shine polish.

This one of a kind ring is a size 10 1/4. The tektite is about an inch long. I have a small collection of these tektites, all in different shapes, in my studio- please contact me if you would like to discuss a custom design.
