This 16Gb USB drive celebrates the first operational submersible warship. The model is 4" long, made of copper with brass trim. The patina and discoloration is authentic, representing the 140 years the Hunley was lost, before it was salvaged from the harbor bottom. The model, while not exact, features a tiny brass propeller which turns on its copper shaft, brass diving planes and hatches, and a row of brass rivets along the centerline. The toothed ramming blade on the bow is not historical, I just liked it, as it merges the Hunley with Verne's Nautilus.
The Hunley Drive comes with its own brass display stand, and a tiny plaque that says CSS, HL Hunley, 1863. This is a one-of-a-kind work of art, signed and dated with engravings both on the stand and the sub. The Hunley Drive would make an exceptional gift for an executive, it is both a handsome addition for the desk as well as a useful USB storage drive.
