Petroglyphs, also called rock engravings, are images created by removing part of a rock surface by incising or carving. Scholars often use terms such as “carving,” “engraving,” or other descriptions of the technique to refer to such images.
There are petroglyphs all throughout the High Mountains in the Landus Fantasticus. Most of them were put there by long forgotten peoples, their origins and meanings lost to history. Many speculate about their purpose… There are some people who even say that these images were put there by the dragons, carved into the rockface with their talons.
This necklace is reminiscent of those forgotten petroglyphs. Crafted out of the colors of the mountains themselves—shades of brown and mossy green—it also contains a central bead whose symbol could have been one of those ancient stone carvings. It hearkens to the mystery of the past, as well as the long forgotten stories that, perhaps, one day will be remembered.
