This game comes with 1 game board, 4 colored game pieces, 1 die, a cardstock instruction/rules sheet, and a canvas drawstring bag to hold it all. I would be happy to make a custom game board for you with different shapes, colors, themes, or game pieces. Convo me and let me know what you have in mind. Be on the lookout for more Mystic Moor games in the near future. I'm an elementary school teacher and making this game really scratched that teacher itch!!! I hope to be making quite a few more!
The goal of the game is simply to get your colored game piece from one end of the board to the other before your opponent. You do this by rolling the die and deciding whether the shape or the color on the die rolled will get you closer to your goal. Example: You roll a blue circle. The next shape on the board is a circle but the next blue shape is 3 spaces away. Choose the color blue instead of the circle shape; it will get you closer to your goal. Unlike most preschool die rolling games, there is a small amount of strategy to this board game in having to determine whether the shape or color is the best choice in the current situation. The start and finish shapes are not labled to give the game a little more variety. This is also a great game for learning or practicing counting, and color/shape recognition. This game can be played alone (count how many rolls it takes you to get to the end), with up to four single players, or cooperatively in small groups. The youngest player goes first!
