Star Urchins are my modern interpretation of a Polish folk art decoration, a style of ornament making that dates back beyond a hundred years. To me, they look like stars or sea urchins, so I call them Star Urchins, but their spiky form has been likened to dahlias and fireworks, too.

I make each Star Urchin completely by hand, and each of mine has 80 hand-formed points. My family has been making them for over half a century and my many years of practice produces a very neat ornament. They are delicate and celestial, take patience and a little while to make. Great to use for decoration anywhere you'd like an interesting conversation piece, or hang them on a Christmas tree with your other special Christmas ornaments.

Each Star Urchin is packaged in a clear box for storage or gift giving and has a loop for hanging.

I recommend 3-inch and 4-inch Star Urchins for average-size Christmas trees. Please contact ("convo") me if you are interested in a different size, quantity or color that you don't see listed here. Thie paper works best for sizes 4-inch and smaller.
