These paintings were made using a several step process. First I made the notes, in pencil on the canvas, using actual notes from my own meetings (usually about art shows, but sometimes other projects). Then I painted the canvas with lots of wet watercolor to make a rich background. Then I painted on the wet surface using a paper cup dipped in watercolor paint to make the coffee rings and spills.
This painting has a light green background with blue, turquoise and yellow tones.
The surface is Fredrix archival quality watercolor canvas board, a pre-made panel for watercolor of treated canvas stretched over a strong particleboard so it won’t warp. The 16 x 20 board fits easily into a standard 16 x 20 frame.
