This brooch shrine is assembled and formed of recycled metal. It has a nice sturdiness to it despite being very lightweight. Won't pull or tug on your blouse or sweater. As with all of my jewelry, each piece is one of a kind. The piece measures approximately 2.5 inches wide and 3 inches long, including the "ANDY" charm.
My son teaches sixth grade and his students collect used soda cans for me! Cans are washed thoroughly, cut, shaped and assembled using "delicious" color combinations. The lovely bottle cap focal point is made using two-part resin for the best clarity and hardness. Pins are made with multi-layers for extra durability and all sharp edges are filed and rounded. The back is finished so that the pin itself is inside the brooch (see photo of back). I sign all pieces when completed.
